Job description

Make a splash at The Colonnade, our Boston rooftop pool, a renowned urban retreat offering a lively gathering spot for family and friends to enjoy cocktails after swimming. Our hotel with a rooftop pool is considered one of the world's best, providing a refined experience.

Position Purpose

A certified lifeguard will ensure the safety and well-being of all guests at RTP. The Lifeguard will work directly with guests, providing courteous, friendly, and professional assistance. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, friendly, and outgoing.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

• Maintain a safe swimming environment by enforcing all pool rules and regulations.
• Apply all safety rules and health code regulations consistently.
• Coordinate emergency procedures and provide first aid when needed.
• Build positive relations and rapport with guests.
• Perform general pool maintenance, including testing and recording water quality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills, Abilities, and Experience Needed to Be Successful

• Must be CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard Certified prior to start date.
• Previous experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
• Skill in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods, move frequently, bend, stoop, and reach. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments for extended periods.
