Job summary

Terracon is seeking Roofing Observers to perform on-site quality assurance observations for commercial roof systems. The role involves extensive roof-deck work, long shifts when required, and potential travel with per-diem support. Training is provided to support development toward RRO certification.

Hours can extend to 4 weeks on with 1 week off; projects may last several months. Candidates must have a high school diploma, 1–2 years of related experience, and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
• IIBEC Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certification preferred but not required.
• Internal safety certifications completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Observe roofing projects for conformance with requirements.
• Offer alternative construction methods to meet project needs.
• Review project drawings, specs, and submittals for observations.
• Communicate observation findings clearly to clients and contractors.
• Coordinate with contractor QC inspectors as needed.
• Explain project requirements to field personnel.
• Be computer literate to record and retrieve observations.
• Maintain assigned equipment and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
