Job summary

Mantis Innovation is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Observer for our Dallas, TX site. The role focuses on quality assurance observation on roofing, walls, pavement, and building envelopes, with surveys as needed. Expect heavy site work, documentation, and coordination with owners, architects, and contractors.

Salary ranges $30–$40/hour, with per diem for travel as dictated by state or county. Must be able to travel up to 70–80% and be eligible for IIBEC certification (RRO/RRC)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years commercial roofing experience with Procore exposure.
• Proficient with field data collection using iPad or tablet and MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, specs and submittals.
• Detail-oriented for observational reports with photos.
• Experience in infrared and capacitance moisture surveys.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Able to perform minor maintenance tasks related to roofing.
• Physically capable of climbing scaffolding and ladders daily.
• Strong communication with design teams, owners and contractors.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between Owner/Architect and Roofing Contractor.
• Review contracts, specs, and change orders.
• Inspect materials and verify storage methods.
• Report project progress and verify installation methods.
• Confirm deck condition after removal and ensure repairs.
• Ensure watertight conditions and correct material installation.
• Monitor punch work and coordinate with manufacturer reps.
• Cross-train with Survey team for roofing condition assessments.
