Job summary

Brand Vaughan, a division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, seeks a Designer to design and layout commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems. You will work with engineers, architects and contractors to discuss changes, prepare layouts, and produce detailed materials lists.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree in civil/architectural/design fields, with 3 years of drafting experience in construction or building materials.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in civil, architectural or design-related field required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 3 years of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry required.
• Excellent writing, salesmanship, and communication skills; ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Designs roof and floor systems and produces layouts.
• Discusses changes with engineers, architects and contractors.
• Prepares roof truss and truss joist layouts.
• Coordinates, sells and follows up on new jobs.
• Produces materials list.
• Performs job-site inspections.
• Maintains computer systems and performs routine upgrades.
• Assists shipping department.
