Job summary

Brand Vaughan, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, seeks a Designer to design and layout commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems. The role requires independent judgment and oversight of structural and architectural design, with collaboration across engineers, architects, and contractors.

You will prepare truss layouts, create materials lists, and coordinate new job activities while ensuring accurate in-house design systems and documentation for project success.

Qualifications

• 3 years of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry.
• Proficient technical writing and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Experience with MS Office and design programs to support in-house systems.

Responsibilities

• Designs commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems and produces layout.
• Discusses changes with engineers, architects and contractors pre- and during construction.
• Prepares roof truss and truss joist layouts and produces materials lists.
• Coordinates, sells and follows up on new jobs; performs site inspections.
• Maintains computer system and supports in shipping department.
