ShopRite of Flanders in Flanders, NJ is seeking a Leader In Training to work closely with the store management team while training in all facets of store operations. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and supporting departments to maintain efficient, safe daily operations.

As a Leader In Training you will learn sales, inventory, and merchandising processes, participate in hiring and coaching, and help uphold ShopRite's safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Job Summary:

Working with the stores management team while training in all facets of the stores operations, the Leader In Training will maintain a high level of customer service while assisting departments and management in the daily operations of the store and to perform other tasks as required in an efficient and safe manner, within Company policy.

Essential Job Functions:

The essential job functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.

• Ability to work with a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powderedsubstances without negative allergic consequences, along with tolerating moderate amounts of dust and chemical agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Meet all work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code policies.

Job Responsibilities:

The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Maintain Department sanitation and QA standards.
• Utilize CGO to maintain and order merchandise to keep product in stock, including using handheld terminal.
• Follow approved procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, and price marking, arranging, and restocking products to ensure quality, accuracy and product rotation and protection.
• Unload and secure received product in appropriate storage areas using power or hand jack, carts, u-boats or bossies as needed.
• Ensure that all products are blocked and faced in accordance to company policy or as assigned.
• Ensure that featured sale merchandise is attractively signed to stimulate sales and follows merchandising plans and directives .
• Handle all product not worked to the shelf according to department and company standards.
• Ensures services levels of all departments are met.
• Facilitates meetings as appropriate.
• Follow company procedures for reclamation, disposal of cardboard, and plastic.
• Establish and maintain effective communication within the store and Company.
• Understand the financial reporting of store operations including reading, analyzing and monitoring sales per labor hour and gross profit, along with meeting shrink goals.
• Maintain and prepare reports and records as required.
• Comply with all ShopRite Service Priorities, and enforce ShopRite’s Purpose and Core Values.
• Work with perishable and non-perishable department managers to understand all aspects of the departments.
• Assist Department Managers as needed.
• Comply with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements, energy management, security standards,shrink directives, and loss prevention programs and all federal health and civil code regulations for compliance and improvement.
• Adhere to the Company’s Safety Program and observe all safety regulations when operating equipment.
• Participates in the hiring, training and coaching processes of associates, along with compliance with theCompany’s negotiated bargaining agreement.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to preserve the integrity of the product.
• Utilize and maintain equipment for proper performance regularly; reporting any failure immediately.
• Must be knowledgeable in the various types of products carried in the store.
• Complete all applicable training programs.
• Comply with all ShopRite Service Priorities, enforcing ShopRite’s Purpose and Core Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
