Job summary

Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY, seeks a Roman Catholic Priest Chaplain to provide pastoral care and sacramental ministry to Catholic patients with on-call coverage. You will work 2–3 days per week, in a part-time capacity, as part of a dedicated pastoral team.

Qualifications include hospital ministry or counseling experience, Archdiocese approval, and ongoing eligibility for NACC certification; a Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; eligibility for certification within one year as a Chaplain by the NACC.
• Masters degree preferred; professional chaplain certification encouraged.
• Training and experience in hospital ministry or counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and sacramental ministry to Roman Catholic patients in collaboration with the pastoral team.
• Provide pastoral care to assigned units when on-call.
• Participate in department activities and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements

The Roman Catholic Priest Chaplain is responsible for providing pastoral care and sacramental ministry to Roman Catholic patients, in collaboration with the rest of the pastoral team; providing pastoral care to assigned units when on-call; and sharing in the related activities of the department as a whole.

Schedule:

2 -3 days per week, Part - Time (8am - 4pm)

Salary:$

63,775.96 - $68,541.99 annually

Qualifications:

• Training and experience in hospital ministry and/or counseling
• Approved faculties to function as a priest from the Archdiocese of New York. Maintains good standing in the Archdiocese of New York.
• Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
  

Education:

• Minimum Bachelors Degree required, as well as eligibility for certification within one year as a Chaplain by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. Masters Degree andCertification preferred.
