Job summary

FoxFarm Soil & Fertilizer Company is seeking a Rolling Stock Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team. The role focuses on upkeep and repair of Rolling Stock equipment, including propane-powered forklifts, trucks, trailers, loaders, and electric carts.

Preventative maintenance (PM) is key to minimizing downtime and plant expenses while maximizing safety. Responsibilities include maintenance tracking in Fulcrum/ Task Management Software, prioritizing projects, hazardous materials handling, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform 90-day inspections on company semi-trucks preferred, but not required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs rolling stock including propane-powered forklifts, trucks, trailers, loaders, electric carts, skid steers, etc.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles, including cleaning, inspecting, testing, operating, and adding fluids, lubricates fittings, and changes tires as needed.
• Reviews maintenance records and updates records after maintenance in Fulcrum/ Task Management Software.
• Prioritizes projects to minimize downtime.
• Complies with hazardous materials programs and disposes of hazardous materials properly.
• Operates power tools and fabricates as needed.
• Schedules and coordinates contractors for repairs and services of Rolling Stock equipment.
• Maintains up-to-date inventory for PM actions.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA and local laws and regulations.
• Maintains shop and surrounding area; attends reliably and on schedule.
