Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro in Geismar, LA is seeking a Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician. The role focuses on maintaining rolling stock such as forklifts and loaders, with repairs spanning electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

You will record-keep to satisfy DOT and plant requirements and ensure uptime. Qualified applicants have a high school diploma, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend for extended periods.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work with operators, mechanics and vendors.
• Able to work the required shift.

Responsibilities

• Owns local maintenance program on rolling stock including forklifts, truck-carried forklifts, loaders, pickups and other rolling stock.
• Maintains records of repairs to develop history for preventative maintenance.
• Keeps records to meet DOT and regulatory requirements for over-the-road equipment.
• Maintains and uses CMMS for records; performs daily, weekly, monthly and yearly PMs.
• Works with leadership to optimize uptime to meet operational demands.
• Builds relationships with vendors and operators to ensure timely maintenance.
