MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for an REO (Forklift) Operator on 2nd shift in our Gordonsville facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.

Position Summary: Responsible for operating all rolling equipment (forklifts) to move, locate, relocate, pick, and stack product. Accurately counts product; ensures the product is free of damage for inbound and outbound shipments and that all paperwork, labeling, and addressing of orders meet in-house and customer specifications. The rolling equipment (forklift) operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and performing other duties as assigned.

Description: Employee must operate all equipment including Pacer, Turret Truck, Order Picker, and Walkie/Rider, and work at elevations of 35 feet wearing Personal Protective Equipment - Safety Harness. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, staging, removing plastic from pallets, breaking down pallets, and completing paperwork. Knowledge of WMS is required. The role involves standing, walking, climbing, and lifting from 3 to 50 pounds regularly. Operate equipment at heights, stretch wrap pallets, place orders, load from conveyor, and ensure documentation accuracy. Extended hours may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes picking and staging cartons and loose stock, labeling, loading/unloading trucks, inspecting for damage, preparing shipments, using scanners and Pick-To-Voice, inspecting and packing orders, maintaining reports, resolving discrepancies, cycle counting, and maintaining a clean work area. Must follow safety and company policies, and comply with environmental, health, and safety standards. Hours: Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m., with mandatory overtime as needed.

Qualifications: Must perform all duties satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to read, comprehend, and write effectively. Basic math skills. Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions. Computer skills including WMS knowledge. Ability to operate various equipment and work at heights wearing PPE.

Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, handling objects, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights with PPE. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Exposure to temperature changes, electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, and noise. Work at heights with safety harness. Moderate noise level.
