Job description

Austin Bridge & Road is currently seeking an experienced Roller Operator in San Antonio, TX. We excel at what we do and are looking for talented construction professionals who want to grow with us.

The roller operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment on earthwork projects. This includes operating self-propelled machines with steel wheels or pneumatic tires used to compact earth fills, subgrade, flexible base, and other materials except bituminous. Operators may need to oil, grease, service, and make necessary adjustments to equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Perform daily equipment inspections
2. Operate equipment safely and efficiently
3. Grade to specified elevations and tolerances
4. Become proficient with equipment before advancing to another machine
5. Follow all safety policies and procedures
6. Adjust work hours to meet project needs, including days, nights, and weekends
7. Work in adverse weather conditions, including hot or cold temperatures
8. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not available
