Job description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Roller Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will operate and maintain roller machinery to compact and smooth surfaces such as roads, parking lots, and other sitework. The Roller Operator will adhere to project specifications while consistently prioritizing safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate roller equipment to compact soil, gravel, asphalt, and other materials on construction projects.
  • Monitor the operation of the machinery and perform routine safety checks.
  • Work closely with site supervisors and other construction staff to complete projects on schedule.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform regular equipment maintenance and reporting.
  • Identify and communicate operational issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Ensure work conforms to all required specifications and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license (appropriate classification for equipment as required by regulations).
  • Proven experience in operating roller machines or similar heavy equipment in a construction environment.
  • Understanding of workplace safety rules and the ability to work safely at all times.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for performing routine maintenance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or formal training in heavy equipment operation.
  • Experience working on road construction or large-scale civil projects.
  • Familiarity with a variety of roller equipment (static, vibratory, pneumatic, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans or project drawings.
