C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is hiring a Roller Operator for our road construction crews in Florida.

The role requires operating heavy rolling equipment to compact subgrades and asphalt, support with site prep, and maintain equipment per safety and documentation standards. Candidates should have at least one year paving experience, be able to work days, nights, or weekends, and hold a valid Florida driver's license. Drug screening and background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of paving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Must be able to meet MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Drug screening and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy rolling machine to compact subgrades and asphalt and assist related crew in site preparation duties.
• Determine the speed and direction of the machine.
• Monitor compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
• Operate hand roller, hand tamp, or guide portable power roller where the main roller cannot reach.
• Check all fluids at engine startup and monitor gauges and fluid levels daily.
• Perform light mechanical adjustments and assist with lubrication and fueling of the roller.
• Follow safe practices and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Roller Operator position for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will operate the heavy rolling machine to compact subgrades and asphalt and assist related crew in adding fill, placing the stone, laying asphalt, dumping trucks, and other site preparation duties
• Ability to determine the speed and direction of the machine
• Requires knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures
• Will operate hand roller, hand tamp, or guide portable power roller over areas not accessible to road roller
• Check all fluids at the beginning of the engine startup and continue to monitor gauges and fluid levels throughout the daily operation
• Ability to perform light mechanical adjustments and/or assist mechanic in performing a repair on equipment, assist with the lubrication and fueling of the roller
• Follow safe practices and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the paving industry required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license
• Employee conducts drug screening and background check
