Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Road Roller Operator to drive and control heavy rolling equipment, compact earth fills, subgrades, and asphalt surfaces to meet project specifications.

You will read engineering drawings, follow safety procedures, and work in dusty environments. Strong physical endurance and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required. Granite is a Drug-Free Workplace and Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience.
• Proper certification required.
• Appropriate training and experience required.
• Read engineering drawings.
• Follow safety guidelines and standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate heavy rolling machine to compact earth fills, subgrades, base, and bituminous surfaces to grade specifications.
• Determine machine speed and direction based on material, temperature, and compressibility.
• Push and guide the roller over surfaces, including hard-to-reach areas.
• Perform checks to ensure alignment and even compaction according to project specs.
