Carter Machinery Co. Inc. in Mechanicsville, VA, is seeking a Rollback Driver for PSD Rental. This full-time, on-site role transports industrial equipment to customer locations and Carter branches along established routes.

Starting compensation ranges from $24.89 to $35.95 per hour. The job requires CDL B licensure, an excellent driving record, ability to operate 3-4 axle trucks, truck inspections, cargo securing per regulations, and forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations.
• Must have an excellent driving record.
• Capable of operating a 3 or 4 axle configuration truck.
• Must be able to conduct inspections of truck to ensure it is in good working order.
• Must be able to secure cargo for transport using chains and/or binders to conform with local, state and federal regulations.
• Must have mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic truck maintenance tasks.
• Must be able to interact professionally with customers and all levels of personnel within organization; Must possess ability to understand and explain problems and concerns related to deliveries.
• Must be able to perform in situations requiring speed and tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of rental, construction, and generator equipment; Must be able to operate, demonstrate and instruct proper equipment operation.
• Must possess ability to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to work additional hours as required by job and customer demand.

Job Title: Rollback Driver - PSD Rental

Seeking Candidates with:

• Previous CDL driving experience, including rollback, medium duty and heavy-haul equipment
• Valid CDL B licensure required
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently sitting for extended periods of time
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 75 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
