Job summary

CMC provides an excellent opportunity to learn the steel reinforcement and construction industries and grow in your career. You may operate a crane, run manufacturing equipment or troubleshoot obstacles, with training and support from your team to reach your full potential.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and willing to work rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate CNC Lathe machines and tools for precision machining.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers.
  • Monitor machine feeds and speeds during production.
  • Inspect outputs for conformance to specifications and maintain inventory.
  • Maintain a safe, clean workstation and perform basic maintenance.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up, adjust, and operate CNC Lathe machine tools and many specialized or advanced variations of tools to preform precision machining
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
  • Check output for conformance to specifications for quality assurance and maintain inventory of completed products
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, and foreign matter. Maintain a safe and clean work station
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skills
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with others
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Work safely at all times by following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements
  • Stay alert to unsafe conditions and report them immediately
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
  • All other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Some overtime will be required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
