Job summary

Interstate Waste Services in Valley Cottage, NY is seeking CDL B commercial roll-off truck drivers for 6am-2pm shifts at $25.74 per hour. This role offers full benefits, paid time off, and year-round steady work.

Essential duties include operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal or recycling facilities, and performing safety inspections. Must have 1 year of CDL driving within the last 7 years and a strong safety record.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake endorsement.
• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Excellent safety record and clean MVR.
• Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Able to speak and read English to communicate with the public and complete reports.
• Ability to read and understand maps and directions.
• Must meet physical and safety requirements and be able to work variable hours including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for pickup of waste or recyclables.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities; may make multiple trips.
• May be required to back into tight areas and navigate congested communities.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure vehicle compliance with safety standards.

Job Highlights:

• Drivers are Responsible for Safely Operating Front, Side, or Rear-Loading Trucks, for the Pick-Up Service of Bags or Containers Filled with Waste or Recyclable Material. Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility, and may make one or more trips throughout the shift. Other duties as assigned.

• We Deploy Both Manual & Automatic Trucks

Requirements:

Additional Job Requirements:

• Routes may require Drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job.
• Our drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Driver pre and post inspections required. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their truck is in compliance with IWS’s safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws, prior to and while operating the vehicle.
