Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is hiring CDL B rear load truck drivers for assignments based out of Ewing, NJ. The position offers hourly pay with overtime and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off.

Candidates should have a valid CDL, airbrake endorsement, and a proven safety record, with at least one year of CDL driving experience within the last seven years. The role includes early start times (6:00am), a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays, and year-round

Qualifications

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL
• Airbrake Endorsement
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years
• Great safety record and clean MVR
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations
• Ability to speak and read English to communicate with the public, understand signals, and complete reports
• Read and understand maps
• Meet physical and safety requirements
• Willing and able to work hours as allowed under DOT regulations, including weekends, nights, or holidays

Responsibilities

• Operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for collection of waste or recyclables.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities; may perform multiple trips.
• We deploy both manual and automatic trucks.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds; mount/dismount the truck multiple times per route.

Job Highlights

• Drivers are Responsible for Safely Operating Front, Side, or Rear-Loading Trucks, for the Pick-Up Service of Bags or Containers Filled with Waste or Recyclable Material. Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility, and may make one or more trips throughout the shift

Additional Job Requirements

• Routes may require Drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job.
• Our drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Driver pre and post inspections required. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their truck is in compliance with IWS's safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws, prior to and while operating the vehicle.
