POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver - CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver ensures vehicle compliance with safety standards, adheres to all regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report safety issues.
2. Safely operate the truck along designated routes, following route sheets or dispatch instructions, and service each customer as assigned.
3. Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift, load, and dispose of refuse according to safety policies.
4. Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues to ensure timely and professional service.
5. Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures.
6. Monitor waste quality and respond to waste spills following safety standards.
7. Maintain vehicle readiness by monitoring condition, cleaning waste from parts of the truck, and ensuring operational efficiency.
8. Complete route sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required documentation.
9. Meet productivity standards and safety policies consistently.
10. Participate actively in the company’s safety and compliance programs.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned, emphasizing customer service, time management, adherence to policies, and safety.

Minimum Requirements

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
