Job summary

Nucor Steel – Nebraska is seeking a Day Melt Shop Maintenance Mechanic to support maintenance and automation across the mill. You will work on PLCs, HMIs, Level 2 systems, drives, and robots while coordinating with operations and maintenance teams.

Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, and be legally authorized to work in the US. Safety is emphasized in every task.

Qualifications

• Two year degree in a related field or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
• Proficient in PLC, HMI, and Drive software and programming.
• Strong PLC, HMI, Drives, Networking and Computer troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for maintenance and operations.
• Maintain and improve mill wide automation, including PLC’s, HMI’s, Level 2 systems, drives, and industrial robots.
• Develop standard operating procedures and train with operation and maintenance teams for continuous improvements.
• Lead safety policies, practices, and housekeeping standards at all times.
