Job Description

2. No of Contractors required: 4
3. Work site: Department of Veterans Affairs, Lebanon VA Medical Center, ATTN: Beverly Miller, 1700 South Lincoln Ave. Lebanon, PA 17042-7529
4. Period Of Performance: The period of performance will be a six month base from the date of award with 2 consecutive one year options.
5. Service Contract Act: No
6. Requested Bill Rates for Supplier: Max of $215/hour per CRNA
7. PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
8. 1.1 Services Provided: The Contractor shall provide Board Certified /Board Eligible Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Services on site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Lebanon VAMC (LVAMC).

10. Scope
11. 2.1 The Office of The Lebanon VA Medical Center currently has a shortage of Board-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA). The Contractor shall furnish all key personnel to provide services necessary to perform onsite Clinic and Surgical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing general surgery, orthopedic, including joint replacement, plastic, ENT, urologic, podiatric, minor vascular, Gynecology, Endoscopy, Dental/oral and ophthalmologic operations.
12. Task Order Purpose
13. 2.2.1 Services Provided/Scope/Purpose: Contractor’s CRNA’s shall provide clinical Anesthesiology services. Contractor’s CRNA’s shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.
14. 2.2.2 The contractor shall provide contract staffing for up to 4 FTE CRNA to provide Operative Services: Contractor’s CRNA’s shall provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing general surgery, orthopedic, including joint replacement, plastic, ENT, urologic, podiatric, minor vascular, Gynecology, Endoscopy, Dental/oral and ophthalmologic operations.
15. Contractor’s CRNA’s shall provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.
16. Contractor’s CRNA’s shall provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
17. All services will be performed on site in accordance with specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Located at the Lebanon VAMC, 1700 South Lincoln Ave, Lebanon PA, 17042.

19. QUALIFICATIONS:

21. 9.1 License: The Contractor’s CRNA(s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
22. 9.2 Board Certification: Contractor’s CRNA(s) shall be Board Certified /Board Eligible CRNA by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
23. 9.3 Credentialing and Privileging: Credentialing and privileging is to be done in accordance with the provisions of VHA Directive 1100.20 and VHA Directive 1100.21. The Contractor is responsible to ensure that proposed CRNA(s) possesses the requisite credentials enabling the granting of privileges.
24. 9.4 Technical Proficiency: Contractor’s CRNA(s) shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
25. 9.5 Continuing Medical Education (CME)/ Certified Education Unit (CEU) Requirements: Contractor shall provide the COR copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the VA facility.
26. 9.6 Training (ACLS, BLS, EHR and VA MANDATORY): Contractor shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein.
27. VA Business Hours: Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. On-Call Services would also be required.
28. Clinic or OR Schedule: Daily 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM weekdays, and On-Call Coverage as needed.
29. 1. On-call contractor’s CRNA’s must be available at all times for phone consultations with VA providers and CRNAs.
30. 2. On-call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site, within 60 minutes.
