Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Rodman to support field survey operations for our road construction projects in Florida.

The role reports to the Party Chief and involves assisting with stake layout, equipment handling, and performance of basic survey math in outdoor conditions. The candidate should have prior survey crew exposure or related field experience, be able to work changing shifts including days/nights/weekends, and pass standard paperwork and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous survey crew experience preferred.
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends.
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently.
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Employer conducts drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Party Chief on construction projects.
• Load and unload survey equipment.
• Clear brush from the survey line.
• Lay out stakes for survey measurements.
• Calculate slopes and grades with basic math.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Follow safety procedures.

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Rodman position for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works as a general assistant on construction projects under the direction of the Party Chief
• Load and unload survey equipment
• Clears brush or trees away from the survey line
• Lay out stakes to prepare for horizontal and vertical survey measurements
• Implement simple math to calculate slopes and grades
• Work outdoors for long hours under varying conditions and terrain
• Follow safe practices and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous experience on a survey crew preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver’s license
• Employer conducts drug screening and background check
