Job summary

Pape-Dawson Consulting Engineers, LLC is seeking a dependable Rodman to join our field surveying crew in Fort Worth, TX. You will support the Party Chief by clearing vegetation, carrying and setting up rods, prisms, tripods, and other equipment to ensure line of sight and accurate measurements.

You will work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 35 lbs, and coordinate with engineering staff to prepare supplies, identify monuments, and complete field tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts and techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with engineering staff and management.
• Must work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift and carry survey equipment up to 35 lbs.
• Demonstrated dependability and teamwork.

• Clear brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight.
• Carry and set up equipment, such as rods, tripods, and prisms, for staking and measurement.
• Load and unload survey equipment and supplies for job assignments.
• Maintain survey supplies, such as nails, paint, rods, and flags, ensuring the crew is prepared for daily tasks.
• Gather supplies, dig for corners, and cut lines.
• Search for and correctly identify monuments.
• Plumb prisms to ensure accurate measurements.
• Measure distances using chains, tape, or other methods.
• Clean and maintain survey equipment.
• Complete other tasks related to field surveying as assigned.
