Job summary

Wcr4 is seeking a paraprofessional to support the special education department at Rocky Creek Ranch in Missouri. The role involves assisting with classroom activities, implementing IEPs, and supporting students' educational, social, and emotional needs.

You will collaborate with teachers, prepare instructional materials, track student progress, and participate in ongoing professional development. Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and be able to travel to off-site campuses as needed.

This position is 8 hours per day from 6am to 2pm. The position includes the duty of riding the handicap bus every morning. The primary role of this position is to provide support in the girls classroom at Rocky Creek Youth Ranch.

JOB OVERVIEW

To be a paraprofessional for specialeducation department. Perform specifiedservices as in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Will perform any combination of tasks in andout of the classroom while with the student(s).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Support offsite education programs in accordancewith West St. Francois County R-IV established curriculum and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member tosupport student/classroom learning and activities. Collaborate as needed to develop andimplement programs and curricula for Kindergarten through 12 th gradestudents.
  • Research and implement grade appropriateinstructional materials.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with supervisors,teachers, coordinators and caregivers.
  • Provide information for and incorporate contentfrom Rocky Creek Ranch into programs and activities.
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s licensein good standing; must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have adequatetransportation to reach off-site campus.
  • Adhere to all West St. Francois County R-IVstaff policies and procedures, as well as, approved Rocky Creek Ranch policies.
  • Ability to work effectively with students andstaff in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities,staff meetings, workshops or conferences as scheduled by the district.
  • Maintain cooperative relations with members ofRocky Creek Ranch.
  • Perform all related tasks and duties asrequired.
  • Discuss with teachers regarding the educational,social, emotional and physical needs and objectives of each student.
  • Implement and maintain individualized learningplans for each student.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIP) asnecessary.
  • Monitor and document each student’s progressutilizing appropriate measurements.
  • Implement necessary interventions and strategiesto promote achievement of student objectives.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current researchand theory in specific field.
  • Abilityto communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
  • Abilityto perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board ofEducation policies.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of educational technologyand the ability to work with a wide range of computer equipment and software.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND EVALUATION

Length of contract and salary to be determined annually by the Board ofEducation. Performance of this job willbe evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools and approved by theBoard of Education.
