Astra Space Operations, LLC seeks a Test Engineer II to work hands-on with real rocket hardware on active campaigns, engine hot-fires, and component testing. You will learn why systems are built as they are while gaining rapid, practical expertise and contributing to autonomous procedure development.

Expect collaboration with senior engineers, data review, and hands-on work with high-pressure, cryogenic, and flammable fluids.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on test, lab, or development experience (internships, university clubs, and project work count).
• Exposure to pressurized systems, instrumentation, or fluid handling and understanding of cryogenic handling differences.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar).
• Comfort with sensors, actuators, and data acquisition hardware at a functional level.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).
• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related engineering field.

Responsabilités

• Support engine and component-level test campaigns from hardware integration through data review under guidance.
• Execute test procedures and control sequences across the campaign lifecycle.
• Operate complex data acquisition systems and identify instrumentation anomalies in real time.
• Assist in building, modifying, and maintaining mechanical, electrical and fluid test systems.
• Collaborate with technicians during fabrication, assembly, and test execution; hands-on with hardware.
