Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Lakeville, MN is hiring a part-time Rock Climbing Instructor to provide safe, engaging instruction and support climbers of all levels.

You will demonstrate proper climbing techniques, monitor the climbing area for safety, and help run classes and Open Wall events while maintaining clean facilities and member records. The role emphasizes excellent customer service and meaningful connections with members in a fitness-focused club.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to climb wall structure occasionally.
• Ability to bend to lift >20 lbs routinely.
• First Aid and CPR/AED certification required within first 60 days of hire.
• Complete Life Time On-Demand Learning Requirements (Kids and Rock Wall) prior to first day.

Responsibilities

• Explain and demonstrate correct usage of climbing equipment and facility features.
• Monitor climbing area to ensure safety procedures are followed by climbers and spectators.
• Assist with leading rock climbing classes, events, and Open Wall.
• Maintain cleanliness of the climbing area.
• Maintain member files and waiver forms.

Position Summary

Provides general climbing instruction and guidance in a fun, enthusiastic, and safety-focused environment. Encourages members and guests to further develop their climbing abilities and physical fitness. Grows and maintains impactful connections with members. Provides excellent customer service and climbing instruction that exemplify the Life Time Way.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitors climbing area to ensure safety procedures are adhered to by climbers and spectators
• Assists with leading rock climbing classes, events, and Open Wall
• Maintains the cleanliness of the climbing area
• Maintains member files and waiver forms

Position Requirements

• High School Degree or Equivalent
• Ability to occasionally scale climbing wall structure
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift more than 20 lbs
• First Aid certification, Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 60 days of hire
• Complete Life Time On-Demand Learning Requirements (Kids and Rock Wall) prior to first day of work

Preferred Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of climbing experience
• Belay certification

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $13.25 and pays up to $15.75, based on experience and qualifications.
