Frontier-Kemper Constructors, Inc. is seeking skilled blasting and underground construction personnel in Battle Mountain, Nevada.

The role involves drilling rock holes for explosives, loading and tamping charges, and assisting in blasting operations to ensure safe, efficient progress on the project. Responsibilities include pre- and post-blast tasks, mucking preparation, installing temporary and permanent roof/support, and coordinating with the Hoist Operator.

Responsibilities

• Drills holes in rock for placement of explosives.
• Operates hand-held or machine-mounted rock drills.
• Positions, aligns and drills holes per blast-hole plan.
• Loads blast holes with explosives; prepares primers and detonators.
• Loads and tamp explosives in each hole as directed.
• Assists in completing the blasting circuit.
• Performs pre-blasting and post-blasting duties; removes equipment.
• Repositions pumps, hoses and equipment after blasts; adds utilities as directed.
• Prepares site for mucking; wets muck pile and scales loose material.
• Assists in mucking: tends hoses and signals Hoist Operator.
• Installs temporary roof jacks and rock bolts in roof and ribs.
• Installs permanent roof and rib support; ties rebar and places concrete.
• Performs other duties related to project construction as needed.
