Job summary

Forvia, a global automotive technology leader, is seeking a Robotic Specialist to design, develop, program, test, and integrate robotic systems across our production facilities. The role involves collaborating with process engineers, welding specialists and quality teams, and requires travel to plants as needed.

You will assemble equipment, set up safety and robot parameters, create welding and material‑handling programs, integrate PLC communication, and verify system performance.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical welding degree or 5 years robot programming/welding experience.
• Proficient manual GMAW and GTAW welding.
• Experience programming Fanuc and Yaskawa robots.
• Welding exhaust components a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and setup equipment and tooling.
• Safety setup for robots using Fanuc DCS or Yaskawa FSU.
• Set up PLC communication with peripheral equipment.
• Create robotic jobs for welding and material handling.
• Configure robotic parameters like TCP, payload, and Mastering.
• Test and debug robotic communications with PLC.
• Install welding packages from SKS, Miller, Lincoln, Fronius.
• Verify function through dimensional checks and acceptance.
