Role Overview
Help improve AI systems by evaluating video footage of robotic arms as they perform tasks. In this remote contract role, you will use your robotics expertise to accurately label actions, outcomes, and failures, turning real-world robot behavior into high-quality training data.
Key Responsibilities
- Review video recordings of robotic arms completing tasks and annotate footage according to detailed guidelines.
- Label actions, events, and errors, including the start and end of each action within a session.
- Assess whether a robot completed its task correctly and identify failures such as missed grasps, dropped objects, inefficient paths, or inaccurate positioning.
- Apply annotation standards consistently across sessions to maintain reliable data quality.
- Escalate unclear or borderline cases to project managers and contribute to their resolution.
- Use knowledge of robot motion, perception, sensors, and system integration to explain likely causes of failures.
- Recommend improvements to annotation guidance when recurring gaps or points of confusion arise.
- Complete assigned annotation work on schedule and at the required quality level.
Qualifications
- Background in robotics, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with robotic arms or robotic systems in an industry, research, or laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of motion control, kinematics, grasping, perception, and sensors.
- Ability to distinguish correct robot behavior from faulty behavior through video review.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to remain consistent while reviewing long sessions of similar footage.
- Comfort following written technical instructions precisely.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Previous video annotation or data-labeling experience is helpful but not required.
Work Terms
Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
$50 to $90 per hour.
