Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Robotics Test Engineer to join the Software Integration & Test (RSIT) team. You will author automated integration tests using pytest, verify Apollo software at the integration layer, and work with senior engineers on defect investigations to grow regression coverage.

You’ll contribute to HIL bench testing, maintain test suites, and participate in cross-functional verification aiming to make each release safer and more reliable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in software development or test engineering; internships/project work may substitute part of this.
• Experience writing or maintaining automated tests in production codebase preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write automated integration, contract, and ICD conformance tests in pytest against software requirements.
• Partner with senior engineers on root-cause investigations for CI failures and defects.
• Convert defects into permanent regression tests for the gate.
• Run and maintain test suites on hardware-in-the-loop benches and report results.
• Triage flaky tests, update fixtures, and improve test code readability.
• Read software requirements and surface ambiguities to senior teammates.
• Provide feedback to CI, dashboards, and release tooling to improve developer experience.
• Collaborate with stack, firmware, and senior RSIT teammates to reflect real behavior in verification.
