Skild AI is building general-purpose robotic intelligence through data-driven machine learning. This Robotics Engineer role focuses on owning and improving teleoperation systems that are critical for collecting training data.

You will be responsible for ensuring reliability, integrating new hardware and software, and working with operators and cross-functional teams to optimize how humans teach robots at scale.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience developing or debugging software on real robots.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Triage and fix teleoperation issues that block data collection, including tracking, retargeting, latency, and data recording problems.
• Build tools and monitoring systems to detect teleoperation failures before they impact data collection.
• Evaluate and integrate new teleoperation hardware and software including VR headsets, glove trackers, body trackers, and retargeting methods.
• Benchmark robot end-effectors for teleoperation performance and data quality.
• Collaborate with operators, ML teams, robotics teams, and data operations to make teleoperation faster, more reliable, and easier to use.
