Job summary
Actalent is seeking a Robotics Technician in Georgetown, KY to install, program, and maintain robotic systems across North America. The role emphasizes online/offline robot and PLC programming, equipment installation, safety validation, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems for automated welding and handling.
The position involves significant project-based travel, collaboration with maintenance teams, and training on new equipment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years PLC programming experience in industrial environments.
- 2+ years knowledge of electrical circuits and industrial controls.
- 2-year technical degree or trade school in Electrical/Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent work history.
- Ability to travel up to 50% (international travel possible).
- Ability to work up to 30% overtime when required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lb and work on heights.
- Read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings accurately.
Responsibilities
- Program, configure, and modify robots and PLCs online and offline.
- Install new equipment and automation systems to meet specs.
- Verify safety devices and interlocks for production readiness.
- Support start-up, commissioning, and optimization of systems.
- Travel to North American plants, mainly KY, AL, MS, and Canada.
- Train maintenance teams on operation and troubleshooting.
