Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Robotics Technician in Mountain View, CA to support the maintenance and repair of a large fleet of robotic systems used for AI and data collection initiatives. You will diagnose electrical systems, controllers, sensors, wiring, actuators, motors, gearboxes, and other components, performing inspections and preventive maintenance.

You will document repairs, calibrate systems, and work closely with engineering and operations to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience working on robotics, automation systems, or other actuated machinery.
• Ability to diagnose electrical faults in motors, controllers, sensors, wiring, and power systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, controllers, sensors, wiring, actuators, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical components.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment with thorough documentation of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve system reliability and fleet performance.
• Travel may be required to support robot deployments at various locations.

• Must be able to work Friday - Tuesday (2pm-10:30pm)


• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment


• Experience working on robotics, automation systems, or other actuated machinery


• Ability to diagnose electrical faults in motors, controllers, sensors, wiring, and power systems


• Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or PLCs

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Prior experience working on robotic fleets


• Military maintenance background (aviation, helicopter, electronics, or mechanical systems)


• Experience with e-bikes, elevators/escalators, automated equipment, or industrial machinery


• Relevant certifications such as IPC, ASE, NATE, or similar


• Experience working in a startup or research environment
