Amazon Robotics RDPI is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the on-site installation, commissioning, and launch of industrial automation across North America. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules and budgets, and travel to project sites to ensure successful deployments.
Relocation to Amazon Corporate offices or project sites may be required; extensive travel (up to 75%) across North America is expected during project lifecycles.
Join Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) Technology Deployment team within Amazon Robotics (AR) organization to deploy industrial robotics across North America's fulfillment network. In RDPI, we have the unique role and privilege of deploying leading edge industrial robotics and customer fulfillment technologies across the North America Stores operations. We raise the bar on the speed, quality and cost of deploying industrial technologies at scale across North America, functioning as the field team who plan, execute and launch the technologies that our internal design and product strategy partners in RDPI develop.
As a Systems Engineer in RDPI, you will be overseeing large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies across Amazon’s growing Stores network. This field engineering position demands strong technical skills for deploying robotic equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems, network configurations, and software coordination.
The ideal candidate has experience with complex electro‑mechanical and network systems, large scale installations, and system troubleshooting. Project durations vary from a few days to several months each.
Relocation to Amazon Corporate offices in Seattle, Boston, Nashville or Austin will be required for the role.
In this role you will focus on execution of end‑to‑end deployment and manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers. You will collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, construction teams, and internal customers including site maintenance and operations teams, to ensure a safe, on‑time, high‑quality product is delivered to the internal customer. You will travel to your project sites, collaborate both virtually and in person, to keep all stakeholders aligned on program status. You will manage day‑to‑day project execution and work on continuous improvement activities to improve deployment execution first‑pass yield. Working with senior engineers and your manager, you will develop technical depth and begin building strategic thinking skills for future growth.
