Job summary

Skild AI is seeking a Support Engineer in San Mateo, CA to develop systems ensuring quality, reliability, and performance across robotics platforms. This hands-on role involves prototyping, CAD fabrication, debugging, and supporting manufacturing workflows.

You will triage electromechanical failures, manage RMA flows, bring hardware from concept to validation, and collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware engineers to accelerate iteration and reliability.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• 3+ years in prototype, development, or failure-analysis lab.
• Ability to root-cause hardware failures from first principles.

Responsibilities

• Own fleet uptime: troubleshoot, root-cause, and repair electromechanical issues across a growing fleet.
• Track failures, identify recurring issues, and write root-cause reports to drive fixes.
• Drive rapid prototypes end to end: build, test, iterate on sub-assemblies and full systems.
