Job summary

Charge Robotics in San Leandro, CA is looking for a Lead R&D Engineering Technician to manage a technician team and oversee the building, testing, and deploying of solar installation robots. You will be responsible for ensuring quality execution and developing technicians' skills through hands-on coaching.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly, strong safety intuition, and a positive attitude toward team management. This role requires in-person work 5 days a week at our headquarters in San Leandro.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
• Experience leading or mentoring technicians.
• Comfortable interpreting schematics/CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of approximately 8 technicians.
• Ensure builds are complete, on schedule, and meet quality standards.
• Upskill the team through hands-on coaching and onboarding new technicians.
