Job summary

Simbe Robotics seeks a Robotics Software Test & QA Engineer to ensure performance, reliability, and quality of robotics software across robot and cloud components. You will develop testing strategies, maintain a fleet of test robots, and triage issues uncovered by automated and manual testing.

This role emphasizes hands-on validation on physical robots, including end-to-end performance and release readiness, working with software engineers and internal testers in a fast-paced hardware-software

Qualifications

• Proficient in Linux and command-line tools.
• Skilled in Python scripting.
• Able to read and debug C++ and Python across hardware-software stacks.
• Experience testing software on robotics or embedded systems.
• Familiar with ROS/ROS2 and related tools.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
• Statistical or data-science familiarity.
• Strong debugging, triage, and documentation skills.
• Calm, collaborative communicator and team player.
• Ability to use AI tools for research and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop testing practices with engineers and build automated tests.
• Monitor fleet of local test robots and run regression tests.
• Triage, debug, and perform root cause analysis of issues.
• Validate software on physical robots and end-to-end performance.
• Assist with robot setup, configuration, and validation for releases.
• Document issues with clear reproduction steps and impact.
• Improve test tooling, pipelines, and quality signals.
