HITT Contracting Inc. seeks a Robotics Software Lead to define the software foundation for our robotics program at construction sites. You will own the architecture and lead the team from concept to field deployment, ensuring safe, reliable operations on active jobsites.

The role blends hands-on technical leadership with a product mindset, translating field observations into robust software, coordinating with hardware, IT, and project teams to accelerate impactful robotics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in robotics, computer science, software engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of robotics software development, including leadership of software engineering teams in real-world deployments.
• Experience applying product management practices to define requirements and roadmaps.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux-based robotics development.
• Experience with version control (Git), automated testing, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with APIs/SDKs and open-source software to integrate diverse components.
• Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic software development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Experience leading external partners through co-development and acceptance testing.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsabilités

• Own the architecture and technical direction of the robotics software stack, interfaces, and standards.
• Lead development of software infrastructure for development, simulation, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and observability.
• Guide decisions across autonomy, perception, manipulation, networking, and cloud-connected services.
• Coordinate with hardware, field testing, operations, IT, and cybersecurity teams.
• Travel to active construction sites for testing, deployment, and support.
