Smith+Naphew is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement software for robotic and computer-assisted surgical applications in a on-site Pittsburgh environment. You will develop, document, and execute tests ensuring performance, reliability and safety, while prototyping solutions to improve system accuracy and usability.

The role requires a BS in CS or related field with 3+ years of C++ in Linux/Unix, plus strong analytical and communication skills. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 3+ years of experience developing large-scale C++ applications in Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software for robotic and computer-assisted surgical applications.
• Develop, document, and execute tests to ensure software performance, reliability, and safety.
• Prototype and innovate solutions to improve system accuracy, usability, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, clinical, and research partners.
