Job summary

FireFly Automatix in Salt Lake City, Utah, is hiring a Robotics Software Engineer to solve real-world problems with centimeter-level mowing accuracy. You will work on planning, perception, and localization across edge computing using Python and C++ while integrating sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, and GNSS.

The role offers a full-time, hybrid schedule with flexible hours, travel up to 10 percent, and health, vision, and dental benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• 3+ years of robotics experience.
• Skills in computer vision, path planning, localization, GNSS, object detection, or imaging.
• Experience with ROS2 and robotics frameworks.
• Experience building robotics software from scratch.
• Interest in working across multiple areas as the team grows.

Responsibilities

• Build planning, perception, and localization algorithms for AMP.
• Develop code that interprets real-world data and conditions.
• Combine sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, stereo depth, and GNSS.
• Improve performance for edge computing using Python and C++.
• Support other parts of the software or hardware stack when needed.
