What you’ll do

Take ownership of the on‑robot software stack—from low‑level sensor interfaces and motor control up to higher‑level state machines and cloud data management—while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to evaluate new designs, triage issues, and analyze system performance.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend the on‑robot software stack, supporting new hardware modules and troubleshooting existing ones.
• Develop higher‑level state machines to efficiently manage incoming orders.
• Collaborate with culinary and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Integrate with delivery service providers to receive orders and provide status updates.
• Design and implement on‑robot control‑panel interfaces.
• Work with firmware, mechanical, electrical, and front‑end engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality.
• Contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ and Linux.
• Experience with ROS or similar robotics frameworks.
• Experience with Vue3 and TypeScript for front‑end web applications.
• Experience with Docker, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, and Git.
• Experience with embedded Linux distributions and deploying software onto physical devices.
• Familiarity with documentation tools (wikis, Markdown) and writing design documents and playbooks.
• Comfort with simulation environments and using simulated backend services in tests.
• Familiarity with SQL, Superset, Jupyter notebooks, and data‑analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills, able to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.

Compensation

Base salary: $174,000 – $222,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined individually and may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance‑based bonus.
