Job summary

Divergent is pioneering the new industrial age with robotic manufacturing platforms for automotive, aerospace, and defense programs. The Automation Engineer will drive advanced automation, optimize production lines, and support scalable processes in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven improvements to ensure high-precision, reliable hardware across critical programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in aerospace/automotive manufacturing preferred.
• 1+ year Robotic Simulation or 2+ years industrial robot programming (Kuka/ABB/FANUC/Yaskawa).
• CAD/Simulation tools proficiency required (NX preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Create simulation studies and maintain robotic programs for production parts.
• Maintain kinematic libraries of hardware in robotic simulations.
• Validate robot motion paths and interference-free sequences.
• Program robots and troubleshoot automation systems for peak performance.
• Document automation systems, manuals, and training materials.
• Mentor teammates on operation and maintenance of robotics systems.
