Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking current PhD students to join as Robotics Applied Scientist II Intern/Co-op in 2026, in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on robotics research areas including manipulation, perception, planning, and AI, with several locations and start dates across the year.

Interns/Co-ops work full-time in-office, typically 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, for 3 to 6+ months. Applicants must have remaining PhD studies after the internship and be eligible for full-time employment in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
• Must be eligible for a full-time (40 hours per week) in-person internship at the assigned office for the whole duration
• At least 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience in Robotics, Computer Vision, ML, Optimization, Manipulation, Perception, Motion Planning or related
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related

Responsibilities

• Contribute to robotics research projects at scale across teams.
• Collaborate with Robotics teams and mentors to shape future robotics applications.
