Job summary

Amazon is seeking PhD students in robotics and related fields for 2026 Robotics Applied Scientist II Intern/Co-ops. Interns will work on scalable research, develop prototypes, and influence robotics and automation at scale across multiple teams.

Ideal candidates have strong programming skills in Java, C++, Python, and a track record in robotics research or related ML fields. Positions are full-time, in-office, with summer, spring, fall start dates and up to 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Must be eligible for and available for full-time (40 hours per week) internship in person at the assigned office for the whole duration
• At least 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience within Robotics, Computer Vision, ML, Optimization, Manipulation, Perception, Motion Planning or related
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related

Responsibilities
