Google DeepMind in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Robotics Research Engineer to connect physical and simulated robot platforms with our research and machine-learning stack. You will build a unified interface across physics simulation and hardware so models and teleoperation tools run seamlessly in both domains.

Working with hardware, simulation, and ML teams, you will deploy new robots, end effectors, and wearable devices for research, supporting scalable experiments, benchmarks, and data collection

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or robotics or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience developing, integrating, and debugging software for robotic systems (simulated and physical).
• Experience with physics simulation environments for modeling robots and testing stacks or validating sim-to-real transfer.
• Experience integrating sensor streams, actuators, and real-time control loops into a robotics software stack.

Responsabilidades

• Integrate robot control software and hardware interfaces with the robotics SDK across simulated and physical platforms, end effectors, and wearable devices.
• Build, validate, and maintain physics simulation environments and software-in-the-loop harnesses that model the on-robot software stack and hardware interfaces.
• Run and maintain the on-robot execution harness to call local and remote ML action models in real time.
• Connect platforms to the teleoperation and data logging stack to capture synchronized sensor streams, robot actions, and demonstrations for model training.
• Develop platforms with fleet orchestration and evaluation tools to run standardized benchmarks and guide data collection.
