Join Toyota Material Handling North America as a Research Engineer in Greene, NY. You will explore emerging technologies in robotics, automation, and AI to build proof-of-concept prototypes for next-generation forklift and material handling equipment.

You will partner with mechanical, electrical, software, and robotics engineers to validate concepts, run experiments, and analyze data, ultimately improving operator performance and customer value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• 2+ years of post-graduate professional experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Java or similar languages.
• Familiarity with robotics and simulation tools such as ROS, MATLAB, Simulink, or Gazebo.

Responsibilities

• Explore emerging technologies in robotics, automation, perception systems, computer vision, AI, and machine learning.
• Design, build, and evaluate proof-of-concept prototypes.
• Partner with mechanical, electrical, software, and robotics engineers to bring new concepts to life.
• Design and execute experiments to validate concepts and system performance.
• Analyze test data and recommend enhancements.
• Share technical findings through reports, presentations, and engineering documentation.
• Support patent development, technical publications, and future product concepts.
• Identify opportunities to improve operator awareness, productivity, and customer value.
