Skild AI is building general-purpose robotic intelligence through data-driven machine learning. This role owns test case management, regression testing, and new-feature validation across full-stack robotics solutions, including software, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and SW/HW interfaces to ensure every update is validated before fleet deployment.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack regression coverage across software components, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and SW/HW interfaces, including happy-path, fault-injection, and recovery testing
- Review requirements and designs for releases, write test plans and test cases for new features, and execute functional, integration, and on-robot testing before shipping
- Build automated end-to-end tests, logged-data replay, and scenario suites to catch performance drift across stack updates, selecting appropriate robot simulation tools for each test level
- Own test case traceability to requirements, define pass/fail criteria, triage failures with engineering teams, and integrate regression testing into CI pipelines
- Partner with engineering and deployment teams to expand hardware-in-the-loop coverage, reproduce field-reported regressions, and convert them into permanent regression tests
What You Need
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, robotics, or test automation
- Strong programming skills in Python and Linux shell scripting with hands-on experience building automated test frameworks and CI pipelines
- Strong experience with robot simulation and familiarity with ROS/ROS 2
- Hands-on experience with fault injection, logged-data replay, and rigor in requirements traceability and defect management
Nice to Have
- Senior-level experience in software testing or robotics
- Experience testing autonomous mobile robots, manipulators, or fleet-deployed robotic systems
- Hands-on experience with simulators such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo, and with hardware-in-the-loop rigs
- Experience with test management tools (TestRail, Qase, Testomat.io) and CI systems, particularly GitHub Actions
- Programming experience in Go, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript, and experience triaging field issues from logs, bag files, or telemetry
