Job summary

Gideon is hiring a Robotics QA Engineer in Bolingbrook, IL to ensure the quality of our autonomous robots used in logistics. You'll establish testing workflows, validate robots for demos and shipments, and coordinate with the remote QA team in Croatia.

The role requires hands-on testing with real robotic systems, experience with UNIX/Linux, Python, and ROS, and strong communication in English within an international team.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
• Basic Python programming and Bash scripting skills.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and a methodical testing approach.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly in written and spoken English.
• Comfortable working in a distributed, international team environment.
• Proactive mindset and ability to take ownership in a self-driven role.
• Experience with robotics systems.
• Familiarity with robotics frameworks and libraries such as: ROS.
• Experience testing hardware-software integrated systems.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the QA and R&D teams in Croatia to define testing areas and test strategies.
• Organize and perform test sessions on robots in Bolingbrook facility, validating before shipment.
• Serve as on-site QA representative in the US, coordinating with remote QA team in Croatia.
• Analyze logs, bag files, and bug reports, identify issues and collaborate to resolve them.
• Create clear test reports with actionable feedback for engineering and product teams.
• Maintain and manage tests within our test management system (Xray).
• Provide on-site and remote QA support to engineering and product teams as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of QA processes.
