Figure is an AI Robotics company based in San Jose, CA, developing a general-purpose humanoid. We are seeking a Prototype Development Technician to build early-stage mechanical and electromechanical assemblies for humanoid robot development.

The role requires 5+ days/week in-office collaboration and a hands-on approach to design iteration, testing, and documentation with engineers from mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical prototyping or assembly.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and wiring diagrams.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues across mechanical and electrical.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies from CAD, schematics, and verbal guidance - often with limited to no work instructions.
• Perform electrical tasks including wiring, soldering, and assembling custom harnesses.
• Help execute tests, diagnose issues and implement solutions in partner with engineering teams.
• Iterate on designs and incorporate frequent revisions.
• Document build processes, findings, and feedback to support design.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to support development.
