Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Robotics Process Engineer II to join our Lake Orion, MI facility. You will work with a team of engineers to advance automated solutions and gain hands-on experience with leading-edge robotics technologies.

Responsibilities include developing simulations for process validation, applying cycle-time improvements, confirming robot models and offline programs, teaching tool center points, configuring robot I/O, and mentoring teammates as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field OR Associate's Degree with 2+ years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience with robot peripheral devices, TCPs, offline programming software, external axes, and user frames.
• Experience with one or more robot applications: Material Handling, Dispense (Urethane, Sealer, Adhesive, Paint), Welding (Spot, Arc, Laser).
• Willingness to travel up to 35–50% to customer sites and other JR locations

Responsibilities

• Develop simulations using one or more platforms for internal and external process validation
• Apply cycle time improvement strategies to optimize robotic applications
• Confirm robot models and develop offline programs (OLPs)
• Teach Tool Center Points (TCPs), Frames, and Loads
• Configure robot I/O, including communication protocols
• Set parameters for application-specific equipment
• Train and mentor team members as directed
